Jillian never imagined that helping a few friends with their new puppies would one day grow into what is now Happy Hounds. What began as a simple act of helping quickly turned into something much bigger — a passion, a purpose, and a community built around the love of dogs.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jillian offered her walking services free of charge to frontline workers who were working long, exhausting hours. Supporting them — and caring for their dogs during such a difficult time — became a turning point. From that moment on, Happy Hounds truly began to grow, and Jillian remains endlessly grateful to everyone who believed in and supported her dream during those uncertain days of 2020.
Believe it or not, Jillian originally went to school for Opera Performance and later Musical Theatre. While music will always hold a special place in her heart, animals have always been her greatest calling.
Jillian has always felt most at home outdoors. Long before Happy Hounds existed, she spent countless hours hiking through the forest with her own dogs, letting them explore, run freely, and experience the joy of nature. Those early adventures shaped the philosophy behind Happy Hounds today — that dogs thrive when they are given the opportunity to move, explore, socialize, and simply be dogs.
Building meaningful, lasting relationships with every pup in her care is what Jillian values most. Watching their confidence grow, their personalities shine, and their excitement when it’s time for an adventure never gets old.
When she’s not out with the Happy Hounds pack, you’ll likely find Jillian exploring new trails around Simcoe County with her own dogs, Mikita and Leo — always chasing the next great adventure together.

Daryn has been working in the animal care industry for over 15 years. She loves dogs and nature so working as an Adventure Hike pack leader is the perfect fit for her. She is continually fascinated with the pack mentality of the dogs. Dogs are amazing!
She firmly believes that a well exercised dog is happy, content and well behaved and she is content knowing that she can help with that.

She adopted her first dog, Lucky as a puppy and when her second dog, Blue, became anxious and reactive after being attacked, Jessie became dedicated to learning how to help dogs feel safe and confident. During COVID, she volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation facility and spent a lot of time walking in the woods, which deepened her appreciation for how special and important nature is. Jessie is grateful to now be part of the Happy Hounds team and hopes to keep working with dogs and spending time in nature for the rest of her life
